A complete Netscape 6 preview release is now available for download.

This release comes complete with complete with a new installer, Netscape messenger (an AIM clone), Net2Phone, a new HTML engine, Sun's Java2, and a spell checker.

Sandeater's original link came from eFront FileForum, who have a review of the release.

I'd also like to point out that this beta is unofficial. I'm expecting this file will be removed from public FTP access pretty soon, or moved somewhere else if it becomes official.

Also, isn't Netscape Messenger an email program - not an AIM clone?

Great! How big is the file? Why eFront put the review of the beta6 under the download page for the 4.72? Cheers

Just spotted this on the Ars Technica frontdoor: "Naturally, I've downloaded it (16MB). Although BetaNews recommends that you wait for the official preview, they give ya the download link in the next breath. Gotta love it! Anyway, it's still slow, but perhaps it is too early to start complaining." We'll have to wait a while longer to see if this "still slow" browser is actually Netscape's best effort, or if it will improve...

Looks like Netscape did indeed pull the pre-beta from public hands already. eFront FileForum no longer has it available for download.

I guess this means I'll be finding it on Hotline only? Oh well, it's easy enough to find software that's not quite ready for public consumption. Anybody have a new link to the file?

Some more comments on the Netscape 6 beta. Apprently the beta appered on the Netscape ftp server as staff where doing some stanging tests (the file has since been removed from the server). This release was not "unofficial", just purly accidental!

Why doesn't someone throw it up on the browser archive? (*ahem*) Adrian? Mr. dwood@worldsport.com has a copy.
