It's old news if you're a subscriber to thelist, but in case you've missed it, Macromedia has announced Flash MX, and is making it no secret that they hope to extend Flash's adoption from an animation medium, to become a usable, application platform for the web.

News.com is reporting on Macromedia's Flash MX, with views from Macromedia spokespeople, an analyst, and a developer.
